I must admit that I haven't actually used SWT and only heard about it from others.
I might ask the question: Has any cross operating system desktop Windowing system taken off? I am not sure that it is just Java. Has Flex made a significant impact? I suppose Flash is undoubtedly successful but not really a desktop app system (Where Flex comes in). Java can be criticised for not having successfully solved this problem but I am not sure anyone else has either. I wonder if the demand for cross platform desktop apps might not be high enough. This kind of crow thinks cross platform. It seems the industry norm to focus on one O/S and have a version for Mac if you company has the resources. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Java Posse" group.
