1) you can't tether your iPhone to your iPad because iPhone only offer
bluetooth tethering and the iPad doesn't support that
2) one reason why people don't want to just carry MiFis or just use
their phone for tethering everywhere are it kills your phone's battery
and it kills the instant on/connected appeal of the iPad 3G. But I do
think it's lame you can't buy a plan that spans both devices
3) BluRay is a stop-gap technology (I agree with Joe and Tor on this).
Your average consumer finds streaming video good enough. The thing
holding back streaming video is content. For example, I wanted to
watch the original Tron again. No dice on iTunes or Netflix
Streaming. Available only on DVD. The future is: every show and
every movie ever made instantly on demand at 1080p for a price
(subscription fee or each). Just a matter of time before the content
owners get on board... and bandwidth will have to go up for 1080p of
course. Of course I personally hate BluRay. I literally can walk to
the corner for a coffee while my player loads the all the BS for
movie. Then I'm forced to watch 5 mins of commercials. Then if I
stop my movie and come back the next day it makes me go through the
whole deal again (thanks Sony!)... I'm sure the newer players are
better, just venting.
4) 3D TVs aren't selling well. People don't want to wear the glasses
at home. My prediction is FAIL
