Before we (read: Fabrizio) reads too much into this, heed Cedric's nota bene: So far the monetization of android apps has been developing along a far more ad-oriented axis compared to iOS devices. I'm 99.95% certain the quoted numbers do not include ad revenue. It also means "The money is in iOS" is a saying with no factual backup (Normally I'd call it "Wrong" but as I don't have the numbers for ad revenue here I can't say so with certainty). Last I heard the angry birds guys are raking in plenty of ad dollars with the android version, which if true would indeed conclusively show that the money is not just in iOS.
As long as ads are pulling developers to the android platform, there's hope if (like me) you don't particularly like this ad-supported trend. Its logical to posit that google likes this development and will thus do its best to keep this status quo going, but at the end of the day if market forces push you in a direction, you pretty much have to follow them. And extending the for-pay part of the android market into new countries can't be _this_ difficult. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Java Posse" group.
