Apart from demographics (Apple users are by definition in the upper- class consumer segment and Android users are often people who specifically chose something else than Apple), there doesn't seem to be any great difference between the purchasing experience on either platform. If anything, it's easier on Android getting your money back if you feel ripped off. So I really don't buy the argument that Apple's store is easier or lower-friction. Hell on Android you can even browse a website, click a "buy" button and have an app pushed to your phone all within 30 secs. > Google needs this. Actually, I don't really think they do... application vendors might think they do, but that's a different matter. Android got bootstrapped now, I don't think any serious vendor will willingly choose not to exist in the Android universe... even if the demographics differ from the Apple one, resulting in different margins. In other words, newsworthiness blown way out of proportion I think. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "The Java Posse" group.
