Well, that's fair, but honestly... Java being the "new C" or the "new
COBOL" is a massive win for Java. Momentum is there. It ain't going away.
Even if Java 7 were the last one ever, we'd only have another 20 years[1]
of Java being pretty much the total winner.[2]

[2] "total winner" is also pulled out of a hat, but a hat that's much more
likely to be accurate. Let's be real: when .NET thinks it's just as good as
Java, then what it's really saying is that Java kicks butt. ("We kick butt
just as much as the other guy! And he kicks butt! We're Microsoft, and WE
LIKE BUTT!... I mean, uh, kicking it.")
