Hello David,

The main purpose of the non-breaking space is to keep words together and to 
ignore a line break.  In a small column for example you might type your 
first name and then your last name.  The last name might go on a line under 
the first name if there is a line break that occurs after your first name is 
typed.  To force both names to stay on the same line you use the 
non-breaking space.  Of course, if you use to many non-breaking spaces you 
will eventually run past the set margin.
