True that, but I have never broken my registry to the point where my PC won't boot. Not saying it can't be done, but I don't think one need be scared of making registry changes. I'd rate my technical/OS knowledge as middling (though it's getting better) and I've made a number of manual changes to the registry in XP, 98 and now in Windows 10, and never experienced any terrible calamities. The worst thing, indeed, has been using a registry cleaner of some kind that revokes a change that I myself made to my system.
