I think Annette is right in suggesting a simple Word Table for this. I would simply add the following suggestions. 1. Make a message template so that your message table design is available from the new document menu in Office. 2. Include a date and time field in the table that automatically updates. To do this in Word 2003 a. Create your table. B. Select the cell you want the date and time in. 3. Press Alt Plus I for insert menu. Press T for date and time. Cursor down through the list until you hear the date and time format you want. Then Tab to the update automatically check box. Press space to check this. Then OK.
This method will work well if she is printing out messages. It will have the drawback of not recording the time permanently electronically as the next time you open the document the field will be updated to the current time. If you want a permanent electronic record of the time simply insert the time fomr the Insert menu without having the update checkbox ticked. This would be very simple to set up but contact me off list if you want me to send a draft template. Consider using Excel or a table in Word. There is a command in both of these programs for entering the date and time. I personally like either of these 2 options over creating a form in Word because both the Excel and Word table options allow you to sort the records. So you could sort by who the messages are from, who they are for, by date, or any other field you have. I must say, I do not know a lot about forms in Word, so there might be some really good reasons for using them over the 2 options I've mentioned.
