Again why bother with form fields?

As far as I know you have to use the forms toolbar to create forms. I have
not found this easy to use with Jaws and sometimes found it hard to locate
on the toolbar with normal commands such as control tab etc. If you are
determined to use the forms toolbar it can be checked under View then
toolbar menu. There are loads of tutorials on the web on using it.

But for the simple task you need I do not really see it is necessary.

Simply make a table in Word and let your Frend tab from one cell to
another.
Simply create a 2 column table with the titles you need in one column and
the empty cells adjacent to enable the data to be input.
You can create a date and time feels as I described in a normal table
without having to go anywhere near form fields.

Simply save as a document template to preserve the format.

David Griffith

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws and a message template!

Good morning;

Thanks to David and Annette for they're suggestions.

thinking about this a little further, I went to jaws help, Topic Word,
protected forms, I tried following the steps, however, I couldn't get the
form fields to be announced.
I even used, "prompt terminators"
the only way I could have the form fields announced is, while in the
document, press insert+f2, arrow down until I heard, custom label, and
pressed enter.
now, I labelled the field.

once I did this, for each field, then? jaws would read them.

essentially I need,

Date;

Time;

Message from;

Message To;

Message Content;

for each field, my friend could type in the relevant information.
