I can understand that you might want to drop Vista if you have had that many problems, but not all of us have those kind of issues with Vista. It's a new OS and It's not surprising that some of us have issues and that we run into glitches. But I wouldn't throw out Vista because of minor problems, and I think I heard that is where this original thread started. Vista requires some time to learn, as does Office 2007, but unless Vista gets scrapped, we are all going to have to deal with it in the years ahead. So my recommendation is that we make a distinction between major problems and the minor glitches, Distinguish between problems that make Vista useless and those that need to patiently follow the learning curve. Dave here. Personally, my expirences with Windows Vista have been absolutely horrid,
mostly with program incompatibility issues, and hardware just not working with it. It did not like JAWS of any version, and for the month I had it, it was a non stop headache of one problem after another, including hardware crashes, program crashes, and a total inability to use my computer at all. I finally got fed up with it, and had my rehab officer send my machine back to Dell, and had XP SP3 put back on it. I just got it back a few weeks ago, and have had no problems at all since. And since my machine is a Dell Vostro 1500 with 2 GB of ram, a Intel Dual core processor, and a 145 GB hard drive, that was originally desinged to handle the rigors of Vista, XP SP3 runs on it like a top. Imho, I would drop Vista like a hot potato, and go back to XP. ____________________________________________________________ Click for online loan, fast & no lender fee, approval today http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL2141/fc/Ioyw6i3m3WLlxRRuPXRNH4R4daZts2zrKMDO6wRQXjWuUlwDqxyJR8/ Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: http://www.jaws-users.com Visit the Blind Computing home page at: http://www.blind-computing.com Address for the list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] To post to this group, send email to [email protected] To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject or body of a blank message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Use the following form in order to contact the management team http://www.jaws-users.com/managers.php If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the following address: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
