As far as I know, Adobe's Acrobat Reader does not have any OCR capability by 
itself.  I believe, however, that you might have some OCR program installed 
like Omnipage.  It will provide such options in menus of applications like 
Acrobat Reader or Word to perform an OCR and automatically convert it to the 
application's format.  But I have not used this capability since Omnipage 
13.
