Hi Brian, Would you please explain to me in steps on how to customize the Tool Bar. This is something I have never fooled with and really don't want to cause any more problems than I already might have. I did go into the Word Tools menu, then into customize just to check it out but, to be quiet honest don't want to screw aroun with something that I'm totally unfamiliar with. I have screwed up my computers too many times by playing around with the unknown. I greatly appreciate the time you and everybody else are taking to help me and anyone else who might come across this problem. Thank you very much. Take care.

Hello Mike, The way that I have been able to have settings retained is to use the "save all" command. You might try it if you want the normal template to use specific settings all the time. In Word 2007, I went into the Word options dialog and opened the custom tab. I found the option under "all commands" and added it to the quick access toolbar. I think in earlier versions you could do the same under the tools menu and the customize choice. I changed between print view, web view and outline view to test it in Word 2007, and when I reopened the documents or even a blank document, the settings were retained. I am not at a system right now with an earlier version of Word installed, but you might check in the file menu to see if there is a "save all" choice before going into the customize settings. Take care.
