Not that I know of in an email.
You might consider cutting and pasting the email into a Word document then
you could mark it up that way.
I usually use three number signs where I want to stop then use the find
command to find them, delete them and put them back at the next stop point.
You could use whatever you like as long as it doesn't appear in the
document.
