I access my e-mail using IMAP.
At the moment I'm at work accessing my gmail account via IMAP in Outlook.
As long as the mail client support IMAP I can access my email anywhere I
want.
All messages is stored on the server.

Thunderbirds IMAP support is excellent!
Though I've used mutt from a unix terminal to access my IMAP account in the
past.

I use Windows most of the time and I don't have any issues with JAWS 11 at
the moment.
There were some annoyances with JAWS 11 regarding Outlook 2007 and the
command prompt on Win 7, but it seems to work fine with the newer builds of
JAWS.

Issues with JAWS 11 is not my only motivation to switch to Thunderbird. I
also like that it is Open Source, the messages are stored in an open, text
format and it is cross platform! I am starting to do a lot of work inside
Vinux and would like to attempt to read mail from there as well. .
