I have just been to control panel mouse, and first tab down, I came to turn
lock on unchecked, so I
have checked it and now will, holding my breath, move the wheel and see what
happens, ... NOTHING
HAS CHANGED, but it may be less sensitive. One can but hope!

I'm just having a thought hear;
although I don't have this specific mouse touchpad, try the following;
1, control panel;
2, press the letter "M" until you hear;
"mouse" press enter.
3, now, shift+tab one time.
now right arrow until you hear;
device tab,
now see if there is a disable mouse pad button.
let me no if this helps.
