ok, I am playing around with this and I just made a change to the
announcement of jaws saying link all the time and will need to undo it
because it sounds real stupid!
I went into the dictionary manager after signing onto the web, clicked add,
typed in the actual word link, tabbed to the replacement word and pressed
space bar. and oked it. After oking it, I saved it.
Now when I go to the different sites I am not hearing jaws say link.
I was toying around with the dictionary manager and typed in hahah instead
of announcing link, so now I need to change it.
I hope this is what you were looking for, if not just smack me.
Take care.

Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Removing links

Mike and Flor,

OK, let's go back over this. I am using JAWS 11 with XP and IE 8. I was
the person who first mentioned configuration manager, html options, links.
As far as I can tell, none of those options stop JAWS from saying the word
"link" when you arrow over a link on a web page. There is a control that
says, "Say link type". From my investigation, this does not stop JAWS
from saying link, or visited link, but does stop it from saying "mailto
link" just saying link instead.

Flor, I did look at the links list, and I see no option that pertains to
the vocalization of the word "link" when moving over links on a web page.
I see that you can choose what types of links, visited, not visited, all,
that appear in the list, I see radio buttons for how you can order the
links in the list. I see controls for moving to the link. I do not see
any controls for saying or not saying "link".

Possibly I am being too hasty and not investigating closely enough, but
I've been through both of those dialogues and have experimented with
several controls, but have not found a way to get JAWS to stop saying
"link" while arrowing around a web page.
