Below is a snapshot of the results page that came up after I performed a
quick scan with SAS 5.0 free edition which indicates that 2 harmful threats
had been detected. Perhaps you can explain how to place a check mark next
to the items you wish to remove as instructed. I can't even find these
items, let alone any check boxes.

It sounds like you may have installed a trial version of SAS paid edition
rather than the free edition. When I clicked on the continue button after
completing a quick scan, the results page states that harmful threats have
been detected and that they should be removed immediately by checking each
item to be removed. But I cannot locate any check boxes nor any other
means
of removing these items. Mike in California , who has the paid version of
SAS, apparently has the same problem. This is one really screwed up
program
that is not worht wasting my time on.

After doing the install,
I did a definition update,
Next ran a scan,
At the end of the scan I was prompted that there were items,
There was a continue button,
I clicked,
I waited a short time, and was prompted to restart the computer,
Actually given choice restart now, or, later.
Once the computer restarted,
Went to SAS in the system tray,
Chose,
Scan for spyware,
Went to manage quarantine items,
And enter on delete all button.

It didn't say anything about "warning asking whether you want to continue
even though you have not selected any items for removal."

When you click on the Remove button at the bottom of the page, you will
get
a warning asking whether you want to continue even though you have not
selected any items for removal. If you click on No, you are returned to
the
results page where you are supposed to select the items you want to
remove.
Of course, there is no way to find them or the check boxes to select
them.
If you click on Yes, SAS will return to the main menu without removing
the
malicious items.

Really? I will pay attention to the next scan, which should be tonight

9:00 while I am hibernating. Lol, if that is true, wow. Time to move on.
Actually now that I think about it, when a scan is done it always
tells me that a certain amount of critical items were found and to click
remove.
So
I route jaws to pc, go to the bottom of the page and click the remove
button.
I, do however, remember it asking me to select items when I had the
free version. I'll see what happens tonight.

No, I think the same is true of the paid version of SAS. You still
need sighted help on the results page to find the check boxes for the
items you want to select for quarantine.

Funny you should bring this up. I posted about this very problem just
yesterday on three other lists, and unfortunately, it appears that SAS
is
no
longer JAWS accessible because you now need sighted help on the results
page
to find the check boxes for selecting the detected threats you want to
quarantine. I spent nearly an hour going over the SAS results page
with
the
JAWS cursor after a quick scan revealed two potentially harful threats
had
been detected, but could not find these threats listed on the results
page
nor the check boxes to select them for removal. The previous version
of
SAS, version 4.56, was totally JAWS accessible, but it no longer
updates
the
database definitions, so I was forced to update to the current version,
SAS
5.0, and much to my chagrin, discovered that the user interface had
been
completely revamped to make it much more difficult to navigate. I
suggest
ditching SAS in favor of Malware Bytes which is much more JAWS
friendly.
