So, if this web key had to be put in after purchase of said computer? This is only something specific to that particular model, different from like an ISP password right? ----- Original Message ----- From: "tim" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, July 02, 2013 3:50 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] connect to the internet from a laptop
You should be able to do a insert + f11 and arrow down to see if it sees any wireless connections. If not then you may have to turn it on. To find that switch it will have a antenna with wavy lines under it and all blue. Most of them are on the f1 through f12 keys. Some do have a separate switch on side or front. Once it is working. You will need some info like the SSID of your router and the security key or wep key. Now if the router is provided by your Internet provider. They may be able to give you this info. I know all verizon customers are able. if its something like a D link, linksys net gear or other type. Then that info will have to be gotten from using the browser and going into your routers options. Ask if need that too. Ok, you got the info you need and wireless is turned on. do that insert + f11 and go to wireless connections. You want to open up network and sharing center. Or, you can hit windows key and search for network and sharing center. Now on that page you want manage wireless networks. On that page your SSID should be showing giving you info about it. Just hit enter on it and it will ask for your wep key the second part of your needed info. Once that key is in hit enter and you should be connected.
