Well, besides making sure wifi is turned on, you can go to wireless in the control panel or just hit the windows key and search for wireless.

Under wireless, you can find view available wireless networks. If you see your network, click on it and if it is secured, enter the password.

That should get you started. For more specific help, we'd need to know your operating system
Take my advice, I don't use it anyway.

bottom, it really needs to be flipped to get connection, I know cause like

i now have a inspiron 6000 laptop, and have never had a laptop
