Hi Gerald, I noticed this behavior after installing an update for MSE that came in Windows updates. Not a definition, but a program update. When you run a scan with MSE, when it is done, if the machine is clean, according to it, it will say: No threats were detected. If this is the case, after you close MSE,then look in the system tray, it will still say: PC status potentially unprotected. I refused this download on my other XP machine, and do not have this warning in the system tray. As long as it is showing unprotected, you will not know if you have a problem or not. HTH, Rick Justice
Tomorrow's another day, another way! and if tomorrow never comes, problem solved! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gerald Levy" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, April 05, 2014 9:08 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] MSE Flagging MY PC As Potentially Unprotected Hmm, interesting. So is it possible that MSE is flagging my computer as potentially unprotected because I am running XP, support for which ends on Tuesday, even though support for the XP version of MSE will continue until July, 2015? Or is it because there is a harmful item in the quarantined items folder that I am unable to remove?
