Please inform us as to how it was, because that is how Microsoft describes it as happening. As far as I know, many of us have not waited to get the notification from Microsoft that our download was ready to install, most of us have used the Media Creation Tool to download the ISO or to simply update our computers right from the tool. So, as someone who did experience the update as it was supposed to go, please inform us on this subject.

 You select the get windows 10 icon on the system tray, it'll say your
 reserved. Then directly below that is the cansle link

I believe from the get windows 10 notification you open the icon by clicking it then scroll down to check my status or something click that and you will go to a webpage that says this computer has reserved a free copy of windows
 10
 if you scroll down I think there will be a link cancel my reservation.  I
 don't know, try it an find out!
