Hi Lois,

Have you looked in your "Deleted" folder to see if those missing messages
may be there.

One possible explanation for the messages going missing is that you may have
your View set to "group messages by conversation" and for "Collapsed," in
which case by deleting the first message you have instructed Outlook Express
to delete the entire thread. To determine this, while in the main Outlook
Express display go to the "View" menu item and open the "Current View"
sub-menu. The last item in this sub-menu is the "Group Messages by
Conversation" and if it is "checked" you have the view option selected. The
next thing to look at is to once again go the "View" menu in the main OE
display and arrow down to the "Expand" and "Collapse" items and see which
one is selected. If it is the "Collapsed" menu item then you have
inadvertently instructed OE to delete the entire conversational thread by
merely instructing it to delete any one message in that thread.

Subject: [jaws-users] outlook express

Hi all,

This morning, the strangest thing happened. I was reading and deleting
messages when about forty of them disappeared. I haven't found them. Also,
jaws wouldn't read the to line when I tried to compose, and nothing came in.
Now it's working again, but the lost messages are still lost. I thought I
may have hit a wrong key while deleting, but I can't think what. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Lois
