Hi Debbie, You could always try a system restore, but that is no guarantee that you'll get the messages back. I don't save my messages in Outlook Express, so, I don't know if they are restored along with the program after using system restore. But as Walt already said, if you tell us how the messages are actually stored on the thumb drive, we may be able to come up with an alternative method for importing them to your new machine. What E-Backup will do, is save all of your settings in Outlook Express, such as message rules, folders and their contents, and the blocked senders list etc. The program is free, and can be found at: www.jfwlite.com/programs First, let's see if we can take care of the messages you already have, and then we can help you backup Outlook Express, and keep you from losing anymore. smile HTH, Ricque ----- Original Message ----- From: "Debbie G" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, September 19, 2006 8:32 AM Subject: Re: [jaws-users] Importing Outlook Express folders
Hi Rick, I still have the old machine, but I erased all of the content in folders. Could I do a system restore? I thank you for helping with this. I would be interest in knowing more about E backup. Take care. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ricque" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, September 19, 2006 5:42 AM Subject: Re: [jaws-users] Importing Outlook Express folders > Hi Debbie, > Do you still have your old machine, and is it in working order? > If so, e-backup would be the easiest way to setup Outlook Express on your > new machine, so it will be just as you left it on the old machine. > If this is the case, let me know, and I'll be glad to help you make the > transition. > Ricque > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Debbie G" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Monday, September 18, 2006 11:16 PM > Subject: [jaws-users] Importing Outlook Express folders > > > Hello all, > > I recently received my new computer and I'm transferring files and folders > from my Thumb Drive to my computer. > > I'm having some trouble importing my Outlook Express folders from my Thumb > Drive to my computer; I want it to be just like it was on my old desktop. > > Here's what I've done so far: Opened up Outlook Express, went to the files > menu, arrowed down to import submenu, entered on other address book.
