Hi Debbie, Okay, if these are .dbx files on your thumb drive, then it shouldn't be hard to import them. You should have files with these names: InBox.dbx OutBox.dbx DeletedItems.dbx Drafts.dbx SentItems.dbx ***.dbx, where *** represents the name of any folders you created in Outlook Express. If these are the files that you saved to your thumb drive, let us know, and the rest should be pretty straight forward. Hi Rick, I exported all of the Outlook Express folders from my old computer and put it on my thumb drive. Thanks for telling me about E backup; I hope this will help. If not, I really appreciate your help anyway. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ricque" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, September 19, 2006 12:02 PM Subject: Re: [jaws-users] Importing Outlook Express folders > Hi Debbie, > You could always try a system restore, but that is no guarantee that > you'll > get the messages back. > I don't save my messages in Outlook Express, so, I don't know if they are > restored along with the program after using system restore. > But as Walt already said, if you tell us how the messages are actually > stored on the thumb drive, we may be able to come up with an alternative > method for importing them to your new machine. > What E-Backup will do, is save all of your settings in Outlook Express, > such > as message rules, folders and their contents, and the blocked senders list > etc. > The program is free, and can be found at: > www.jfwlite.com/programs > First, let's see if we can take care of the messages you already have, and > then we can help you backup Outlook Express, and keep you from losing > anymore. smile > HTH, > Ricque > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Debbie G" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Tuesday, September 19, 2006 8:32 AM > Subject: Re: [jaws-users] Importing Outlook Express folders > > > Hi Rick, > > I still have the old machine, but I erased all of the content in folders. > > Could I do a system restore? > > I thank you for helping with this. > > I would be interest in knowing more about E backup. > Take care. > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Ricque" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[email protected]> > Sent: Tuesday, September 19, 2006 5:42 AM > Subject: Re: [jaws-users] Importing Outlook Express folders > > >> Hi Debbie, >> Do you still have your old machine, and is it in working order? >> If so, e-backup would be the easiest way to setup Outlook Express on >> your >> new machine, so it will be just as you left it on the old machine. >> If this is the case, let me know, and I'll be glad to help you make the >> transition. >> Ricque >> ----- Original Message ----- >> From: "Debbie G" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >> To: <[email protected]> >> Sent: Monday, September 18, 2006 11:16 PM >> Subject: [jaws-users] Importing Outlook Express folders >> >> >> Hello all, >> >> I recently received my new computer and I'm transferring files and >> folders >> from my Thumb Drive to my computer. >> >> I'm having some trouble importing my Outlook Express folders from my >> Thumb >> Drive to my computer; I want it to be just like it was on my old desktop. >> >> Here's what I've done so far: Opened up Outlook Express, went to the >> files >> menu, arrowed down to import submenu, entered on other address book. >> When >> I >> entered on other address book, arrowed down to text files (comma >> separated >> values), tab to the import button, and pressed enter.
