This really does seem to be a small problem, but I will explain it again.
My Outlook Express was not reading the letters phonetically when pressing
numpad 5 twice quickly, using JAWS 7.1. This only happened within a message
in OE.
Since I have a bit of a hearing problem, phonetics are important to me.
I found that enhanced edit support was checked, and upon reading the help on
this item, I found that the default says it should be unchecked, as it was
in 7.0.
Now that the item is unchecked, I again hear letters pronounced
phonetically.
I still don't understand what enhanced edit support does.
If no one else has a problem with this item, by all means, leave it alone.
Who can say why JAWS acts differently on different computers?

Hey Walt,

It wasn't checked. I have it checked now. Should I notice any differences?
What does this mean by
having it checked?

Thanks,
Donnie

Donnie -

1. Open Outlook.
2. Press JAWS Key+6 (that's 6 on the number row, _not_ F6 or the Num Pad 6)
to open the Configuration Manager.
3. Press ALT+S to open Settings.
4. Press T to open Text Settings.
5. Arrow down until you find it. If it is not checked, press SPACEBAR to
check it.
6. Press ENTER, since the default button is OK.
7. Press CTRL+S to save the settings.
8. Press ALT+F4 to close the Configuration Manager.

Hey Walt,

In Outlook, how do I find enhanced editing? I don't know if mine is checked
or unchecked.

Thanks,
Donnie
