FWIW someone just emailed me about an article on Slashdot. Apparently
Jorrit (the prime author of an LGPL game orientated library called
CrystalSpace) emailed FSF in regards to linking against proprietry code.
Apparently the email record is at http://crystal.linuxgames.com/rms.html
but my proxy is down atm and I haven't checked. It should also be on
slashdot if /. has an archive ? I expect whatever is said in there will
support the view that linking against proprietrary code from LGPL code is a
no-no. I haven't read it but I was told that it supported this opinion so
if you can't be bothered clarifying with [EMAIL PROTECTED] this may be a
shortcut ;)

Cheers,

Pete
