Dear Friend, It is important in life that we continually stand strong and show our confidence in God's ability to strengthen us, meet our needs and deliver us from the obstacles that come our way. The Lord declares in Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God." The Lord is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think and are to remember to be still and know that God's Spirit is right by our side. Isaiah 59:1 says, "Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear." God is the faithful Father who promised to never leave you, but will hear your prayer and save you with His mighty hand. We should never allow worry or anxiety to enter into our hearts and keep us from reaching the heights of victory that God wishes for us to reach and stand upon. The Lord is our strength and refuge as we read in Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Be encouraged to continue on and know that God is with you and will meet your every need because of your faith, confidence and trust in Him. (Psalm 37:3-9) I hope you are encouraged by this story to rest in God's ability and trust that He will save and deliver you from the trials that come your way. STOP STRUGGLING A story is told of a man taking a trip on an old wooden sailing ship. He was out of the deck one day and saw one of the crew-members climbing the ropes, going up to the crow's nest. When he was about half way up, the ship pitched to one side and he was thrown overboard. When he hit the water, he began to scream for help, and flail his arms wildly, as he struggled to survive. The traveler watched as a sailor walked over to the rail of the ship, and calmly observed the man in the water. After a short while the man in the water tired, and began to sink. Immediately the sailor standing by the rail jumped overboard, and rescued the drowning victim. After both men were safely on board, the traveler went over to the rescuer and asked, "why did you wait so long to jump in the water and rescue this man?" He calmly replied, "I have found that as long as a man is struggling in the water, there is a greater chance that he will get us both killed if I jump in too quickly, and try to save him." I have learned that it is better to let them struggle awhile, and when they come to the end of their own strength, I can then jump in and rescue them. My friend, are you like the drowning man in the story? Have you fallen from your place of comfort and safety, and you are now struggling just to survive? Have you cried out to God to come and rescue you immediately? It is possible the Lord is waiting until you have come to the end of yourself, and stop struggling in a vain attempt to save yourself, through any means. When you finally admit you can't save yourself, God will jump into the water and save you! Author Unknown Read and meditate on these scriptures: 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God." 2 Corinthians 12:8-10 "For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong." Jeremiah 32:17-18 "Ah Lord GOD! behold, Thou hast made the heaven and the earth by Thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for Thee: Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is His Name." Psalm 37:3-6 "Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass. And He shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday."
