I'm really impressed with the current state of the Jive controller. I remember when it first came out: limited functionality, bugs both in software and hardware and my questioning whether I would ever purchase a product like the Jive controller. Having worked with the controller for the past few months, it surprises me how far it has come in such little time. I haven't encountered a single bug in weeks and features are still being added! I have no doubt that I would purchase a controller and would recommend it to anyone that asked.
I'd like to ask the development team (hardware and software) whether you think this beta program has been a success and whether you received as much useful feedback from the community as you expected. Or, have the feedback and contributions been only partially useful (or not useful at all)? Did this beta program fulfill expectations and did you, the developers, get as much out this beta testing as you had hoped? >From the perspective of an avid open-source developer, the whole process has fascinated me and I'm pondering whether the cost/benefit of this model of hardware development is considered by you to be a success and would you consider doing it again with other products? Thanks, -sam (As a side note, I also owe you a tremendous amount of gratitude for including me in the beta testing. I've learned more about embedded linux from your controller than I've been able to teach myself with dozens of books over the past few years.) -- sdonham ------------------------------------------------------------------------ sdonham's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7749 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44061 _______________________________________________ jive mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/jive
