Great I'll be interested to see what changes you needed. After getting Poky setup it seems to be a much better solution than we used before. But we still have a couple of teething issues to resolve with the nightly builds. You should switch to using the 7.3 branch with poky (and any significant changes are now be targeted for 7.3 anyway). And I think poky already includes a LIRC recipe. If you need to modify it copy the existing recipe into meta-squeezeos packages and make you changes in the copy. Do you have any specific poky questions?
