Hello to Jmeter community, I'm getting involved in a benchmarking activity of the ObjectWeb open source consortium (see JMOB working group at http://www.objectweb.org/architecture/jmob/index.html). This activity is starting from interesting open source benchmarking software in Java, especially as far as complex load profile, performance (for both tested and testing systems) data collection and distributed testing are concerned. On the other hand, I (and some other people in JMOB) have the feeling that Jmeter could be a pretty good basis (user-friendly, extendible).
Today, it seems that you are wondering about the future of Jmeter, especially in the context of Jakarta. I'm NOT an ObjectWeb's official person, but I'm just in charge of seeing if there could be an opportunity to merge our efforts, and host Jmeter project at ObjectWeb (sourceforge, mailing lists...). Could you please comment on this idea?
