I think it's great that you would consider using JMeter as a basis for your load 
profiling needs.  I'm not clear on what exactly ObjectWeb is from your note, and 
the website didn't help too much.  But, it didn't seem to me that JMeter would really 
fit in all that well there.  JMeter is a pretty independent application, unrelated to 
other applications.  If you wanted to use JMeter as a starting point for developing 
your own extensions, you could simply become an active contributor and start 
adding what you need to JMeter.  I'm sure your additions would be useful to others 
as well.  

Conor and I have agreed that a good course to follow is to find out how many 
people want to become committers and from there, with the help of these new 
committers, decide how best to serve the future of JMeter. If people want to stay at 
Apache, then it will.  If people decide it's best to move, then we'll do that.
