For single-button mice, or using the left-mouse button only, here are the=
assignments:
Z-rotation ---------- Shift-left-drag horizontally (Shift-left-drag vertically changes the zoom level)
Translation ----------- shift double-left-click-drag
Slab ---- not currently implemented as a mouse gesture
These are what I was interested in - most Mac users will have single-button mice (especially in academic clusters) - and the gestures work as stated. Need to add them to my 'Help'.
Thanks.
Now, regarding slab behavior ...
You are only the 2nd person who has asked for it.
slab is available as a script command, but not as a mouse gesture.
Ctrl-left is used in Chime. This cannot be used because it will conflict with OSX.
I personally find slab with the mouse to be very confusing ... but I am not a chemist.
I agree with you - there's a limit to the number of mouse/keyboard combinations anyone can rememeber. I was not actually requesting slabbing (it's not relevant to what we are displaying), just making the point that I couldn't do it. But, as you pointed out, I'd chanced on out-of-date instructions.

PS Just found a slight bug. If you shift double-click *on the molecule* after it has been zoomed in, most times I find it gets zoomed back.
