I have searched back through my posts to the list.   On June 7, I began a 
thread entitled Java Exception.  In it I reported this problem, occurring with 
programs that had previously been running. Students had used them in the spring 
semester, though, I must confess, I had not checked them that semester because 
I was not teaching organic.  So the issue may have arisen earlier and I did not 
know about it.  

If you have access to that thread you can see the interchange that took place 
then, primarily involving me, you, and Angel.  At the time, we attributed it to 
the new security protocols that Mozilla had included, and I began using the 
signed applet.  None of these program was written using jmol.js.

Now, what version of Java and Firefox was I using.   I will look at the Apple 
download site to see when java updates took place and see if I can find the 
same on the Mozilla website for Firefox.
