Bob: I have searched back through my posts to the list. On June 7, I began a thread entitled Java Exception. In it I reported this problem, occurring with programs that had previously been running. Students had used them in the spring semester, though, I must confess, I had not checked them that semester because I was not teaching organic. So the issue may have arisen earlier and I did not know about it.
If you have access to that thread you can see the interchange that took place then, primarily involving me, you, and Angel. At the time, we attributed it to the new security protocols that Mozilla had included, and I began using the signed applet. None of these program was written using jmol.js. Now, what version of Java and Firefox was I using. I will look at the Apple download site to see when java updates took place and see if I can find the same on the Mozilla website for Firefox.
