They do the same thing to my husband at work. He has to write his own performance reviews and management does not have a clue as to how valuable he is. I had to do this also and I could not stand it. I am a researcher they should know what I do. Rhetorical question here... why is it that, in the corporate workplace, people have to use other people to get ahead? I know there is no real conclusive answer to that but it is one that I wrestle with. It will probably one of the causes for the demise of our country's industry.

What's even sillier is when my boss gives ME the forms to fill out regarding MY OWN performance review, so he can "compare notes". The truth is they don't have much of a clue about the quality or quantity of work that's being done.
