hi jim. thanks for trying to explain this to me. i can
totally understand cynicism, frustration, confusion and
anger about all the security craziness we are now experiencing.
and some good parodies/sarcasm probably have their place in
expressing that.

yet i continue to be queasy about any kind of parody
involving thousands of new yorkers (or anyone, really)
killed--by terrorists or others. to me it wasn't really
the "overfly" issue that brought distaste--although,
as you said, i missed that as a context--but the way (brief,
untrue, blunt) it was expressed in the form of a joke.
or "hoax." i'm don't think i would feel differently if i
had read the original sequence of posts...but, maybe i would.

again, i'm sure your intent was NOT to make me feel this
way. and i fully acknowledge my extra sensitivity about all
matters regarding 9/11, security, terrorism, and the like.

thanks for your explanation--and apology--and for reading
my thoughts here. thanks too to those who wrote offlist--
your sympathy and support mean a lot.

as long as i'm at it--thanks to the WHOLE jmdl for a good,
open, forum for discussion. i appreciate the chance to
be a part of it.
