On September 9th, last Monday, Bush met the PM of Canada, Cretian
(spelling) at the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit to discuss security
issues, or more accurately, do a photo op because some new scanner stuff
and security measures was installed, and millions of dollars in goods
goes across that bridge daily.

Bush said, this is not an exact quote but very close: "We do not want to
make it hard for truck drivers to come into this country.. We want to
make it hard for terrorists to come into this country."

Hey, if we make it hard, and they still get through, is that like doing
well on Survivor? Do they get to move on to the next round?

Ok, that was nasty. I am so rebuked.

But kidding aside, on Bush's behalf, he did not ignore Canada for the
September 11th thing, as I am sure that the September 9th event at the
bridge with the Canadian PM was a way of including Canada in toe
occasion. There was much said by both sides about the importance of
each nation to the other, and how much we value each other. It is the
media that ignored Canada in the entirety of Bush's scheduled over that
week, rather than Bush ignoring Canada, he gave Canada attention of 9-9.
