The not so much "me too" post:
I note that after I me-tooed on Michael's prior post that he said:
>
> Having received more context on the passage I referred to above, I retract
> my characterization of it as cruel and/or homophobic.
>
me too
As far as Eminem: I fail to understand why his name is in this post. I have
been evolving in my understanding of the Em boy and I am appreciating him a
lot more than I used to. But regardless of that, why is he being bashed in
this post title which is about parenting issues?
For background, I monitor the Michigan bar's defense attorney list and Eminem
has been a subject there for a long, long time, since his mother first began
seeking an attorney to sue her son for defamation. That ongoing discussion
makes me privy to some information that confidentiality forbids my saying
more. But if you want to guess, it would be safe to say that Eminem's mother
is going to lose that defamation suit. On factual grounds. IMHO mom is after
$ and she does not have a factual leg to stand on.
I live in Michigan, Eminem's home state, and his every move, and arrest, and
marital woe, is front page fodder. He is not my poster child for husband of
the year, or model citizen of the year. He is a troubled young man. With
parents like his... But there has never been any hint that he has been other
than a devoted and loving father to his child; he is seeking custody of his
child, and if you want to guess, I'd go with he will get at minimum joint
custody if not full. If there are surprises yet to be on his parenting
skills, I of course don't know them. But I'd suspect they have been
publicized by now if there were any rumors or bashing to be done.
It is fun and easy to bash the Em guy (and I think it is often unfair) but I
still fail to understand why his name is in the title of this thread.
