I ran across an interesting Joni item on eBay just now. It's a signed and numbered
print of a 1969 erotic painting by renowned UK bluesman and erstwhile artist John
Mayall titled "Joni's Favorite." The print is of a white woman with blondish hair
engaged in the goat dance with a dark-skinned man. The description says that the
woman in the painting is supposed to be our Joni.

Well, I know Mayall has lived in Laurel Canyon, where Joni lives, for quite a number
of years now. I'm wondering: did Joni pose for this? Who's the lucky stiff on top of
her supposed to be? If anyone knows the story surrounding this painting, I'd be really
interested in hearing it.

I thought about bidding on it, fleetingly. But what the heck would I do with it? It
would go straight into the closet, I'm sure. Not the kind of thing I could hang above
the mantel or the headboard. Well, I guess I could, but how would I explain it to my,
um, woman guests of either ethnicity? I guess I could store it someplace til I move
to New York City, where I could hang it prominently and no one would bat an eye.

But I digress... Anyone got the skinny?
