I agree. I'm ashamed to say that I did not appreciate them at all back when
Joni did Miles of Aisles. I thought "who are these guys - she doesn't need
a band!" How parochial, but I was young and uninformed. I had flipped over
FTR and C&S not even paying attention to the contributions of that band. Joe
Sample, Larry Carlton, Max Bennett....in retrospect, I say "hello????" I'm
sorry I missed seeing Tom a couple years ago here in Hollywood. Robben Ford
played here at the Catalina Bar & Grill last Thursday night and I was intent
on going but couldn't make it. I will try to make up for lost opportunities
and lack of appreciation in the future! Pound for pound, they outweighed
Jaco and Pat, IMHO.
