5) Walking a golf course at 7:30pm on a summer day, enjoying daylight savings
time. Not giving a care to what I score and in fact I dont even keep it.
Fresh air, hitting the little ball far or accurately, into the blue. But
mostly just enjoying the walk. I could think about work if I wanted to and of
course theres all the myths about doing business on a golf course but its
mostly smack talk or insults and jibes from friends. But truly tons and tons
of fun.
4) Put on the earphones, assemble the SG and all the pedals, insert external
guitar system into my studio mixing board and with all the effects I play
along with my favorite bands. Sing with them as well. I dare to say that when
you are playing Politician along with Eric Clapton, Money For Nothing along
with Dire Straits, or Sharp dressed Man along with ZZ Topp and or even
singing a duet with Joni herself its virtually impossible to think about
anything else and threreby totally relaxing. This form of relaxation is
limitless since any album can be put into a system so you can play with
anyone you want any time you want. Another bonus point is provided by the
fact that your neighbors have no idea you are having so much fun.
3) Art museums (for me) filled with realist and impressionist and California
and Hudson River school masterpieces. Natural History museums filled with
ancient things to imagine the world the object existed in.
2) Any Cafe in Rome or Paris. All day with wine and salads and coffees.
1) Playing baseball. I actually cant play in games anymore because my ankles
are gone but I can still hit and still take ground balls. There is nothing
quite like batting practice and coaching kids is a time to treasure. Watching
them develop as the season goes by.
