Better solutions are readily available. If the owners and masters of the list are willing to delegate some authority. There are plenty of list solutions out there, that accommodate upwards of 20,000 members. Perhaps there are behind-the-scenes concerns about so many list members and the volume of traffic, or the perception of SPAM from what might look like bulk mailings. These can and should be nipped in the bud by addressing the issue with the upstream provider. Even if we had to migrate to a donation model in order to afford premium services, where every member of the list kicked in a dollar for hosting costs, that's $21,000.00 dollars. Versus the broken model of a forum? Someone, reality is knocking. Please pull your head out and answer the knock.
