I have not used Junos as an RR in anger, but my experience with CSR1000v and Cat8000v is performance is significantly boosted when running it on x86 hardware in a VM, with routes downloaded only into RIB and not FIB.
Cisco, Juniper and Nokia all have decent RR VM's for x86-based deployments that support EVPN SAFI. You won't go wrong with either of them.
