I had been very frustrated setting up K9 on my mobile. none of my account were able to send mails though all were able to fetch new mails. i tried yahoo pop3 and live.com pop3 ... the same results.
I am using a personal wifi hotspot which uses the connection from a LAN, so i dont think there is any port blocking problem. I even tried opening ports for ssl and starttls from my laptop. then just out of frustration i set the port on outgoing mail settings on k9 as 25 (the default smtp port) while specifying starttls security and it worked. it shd never have worked but it did. incidentally i was facing the same problem with thuderbird on my aptop and the same hack worked for it too. is this a potential security bug ... i mean are all my passwords sent using plain text ? what about the content of the mail ? someone please shed light N -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the K-9 Mail Users List.
