I agree, POP is old and antiquated for the web today. When storage space cost a lot, mail providers used pop3 accounts so mail would be downloaded and stored on your computer and removed from their servers. It worked fine until people wanted to view mail on multiple devices. If the mail is downloaded to the computer and removed from the server, you can't view it on your phone.
Your POP mail server may have a timeout setting if there are too many poll requests within a specific time frame. The mail server then locks out all requests for a period of time. This is probably why you are having an issue with multiple devices polling a POP account and not getting mail updates. upgrading to an IMAP account is your best solution. -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the K-9 Mail Users List.
