Hi! Not too worry! I am not going to despair! I love KiCAD and use it every day making vintage/classic homebrew computer PCBs. I've made about a dozen ECB and S-100 boards and recommend KiCAD every chance I get!
I did get a chance to correspond by email with the author of the topological autorouter project. He said the source code is available in the in the git repository for gEDA's PCB, on gpleda.org so it is available for inspection if people would like to review it. He mentioned the topological autorouter code would require a lot of hacking to get into a usable shape. The good news is the base technology code is available if the KiCAD authors would like to consider it for inclusion. I do not know how much effort would be required for integration but it sounds substantial. Please keep up the good works! Thanks and have a nice day!
