Actually it can be done. But it requires a lot of effort from a lot of people. This practice of "paper bashing" is already in the psyche of Philippine corporate HR.

I'm not saying that my present company is not treating me well. It is doing ok, and is treating me well. But I cannot say the same with the other people. Categorically speaking, a lot of people are not fortunate as some of us here that are still in the Philippines. I'm with my present company now because it provides me enough for my family (for now.) But that doesn't mean I'm not going to move ahead. And the only thing that will be more gratifying for me is not become an employee --- and become an entrepreneur myself to go to the long haul. Short term goal -- be employed first, get skills as much as I can, use the present environment to improve, then later on, go for the long stretch.. but you can only do that once you are your own boss.. :) PEACE!

Still you don't get what I mean. Yes it's a practice and is a vicious cycle but does not give us good results and improvement in our lifestyle. So why tackle something that can't be done? Some guys had landed on good jobs because of their attitude, discipline, and the way they think not by the way that they achieve.

The reason why WE WORK is to LIVE and to have a GOOD FUTURE for our family and the way to achieve that goal is to have a GOOD COMPENSATION or higher SALARY in the FASTEST TIME we have. Be more productive in your lifestyle. Companies also make ways and means to improve on their business by having low labour cost and administrative expenses but giving same or much greater result. Kung baga cost reduction.

Does your present company doesn't treat you well? Why stay there? Move on and let go but plan your way first.

Just to give some highlight on the current IT news and I wonder why are you guys still fighting for an outdated issue and thing that is already been done.. you can't do anything about it. Can you?

I dont think the issue is outdated, coz I still see a lot of perfectly capable kids not landing jobs... it is not done coz this IS a "practice" and a vicious cycle.. not a one-time only gamble. Yes, a lot of us CANNOT do anything about it because specially when we ourselves are employed. Good for guys who already left the Philippines ahead.

The only advice I can give now to those who cannot land "permanent or secure" jobs, do Micro-ISV (Independent Software Venture). And do not listen for calls on professionalizing software development :). You guys can also band together and form a "development group". More chance to be heard.

>A lot of those who are currently employed abroad actually had problems looking for jobs locally :).

True and the main reason is SALARY.

The reason why WE WORK is SALARY. it's always been salary and compensation. But then again, some local companies don't treat workers fairly, do they? or else we'd be stuck with them till forever if they did.
