So the choice of license will be upto the author/s and not really
mandated by the committee?

Yes. PhOSSIL will provide the research environment at no charge.
Caveat, the project will become opensource or is intended to be
opensource. Regardless, the author still has the right to monetize his
project as he see fit, however, his project will become opensource.
Credits will still go to the author and not PhOSSIL. PhOSSIL is in a
way, a "sponsor" to the project.

From what I understand, the researcher will have no choice but to
give-up the rights of his work to PhOSSIL. Am I geeting this right
or is there something that I miss?

Just a follow-up.

PhOSSIL also will make the laboratory available to everyone
willing to conduct research. All they need to do is
apply/register.
All this will not bear fruit if the people behind PhOSSIL is
not there. Due to the very nature of the undertaking, it is
but logical that the participants be very near to discuss and
formulate which path PhOSSIL will take.

Question sir. I'm confused yet curious.
As an organization, how is it different compared to KLUG?
What are the expected responsibilities that I'll be facing?
How am I gonna prepare myself for that?
I can relate web topics, but not-so in linux, am I qualified?
You've mentioned "geographical closeness", so there'll be
meetings, seminars, workshops to be held here in our place?
Yes, it's opensource. Is it like a group of geeks in a
laboratory, exchanging ideas, experimenting, and doing
research?
Sorry, don't know how to start asking. well that's it.
