Di man sad tanto.. :p hehehe..
Bitaw, most mobile phones nowadays comes with a WLAN and a web browser
and that's a good start already. Linksys WRT54G{S,L} can be flash and
use {Open,X,DD}WRT instead which is an embedded GNU/Linux
distribution. You can develop a web based remote control-like UI to
control your home security system if you want.
Now, I don't know which part of your house you want to secure so I
really can't proceed now. My only question is on how you can control
these devices and on to what interfaces you are going to connect to
them. With my limited knowledge, if you really want to fully control
your home security devices, you need to have some knowledge on
embedded hardware designing plus embedded software development and
embedded GNU/Linux or NetBSD.
Try to check if the Gumstix <http://www.gumstix.com/> products can
help you create your home security devices.
Good luck!
