I'm afraid you'll have to do more to support your beliefs than just
quoting the Bible (I suspect this is true to some degree of most any
other religions' primary scriptures as well).
I'm afraid you'll have to do better than Bart D. Erman to subsantiate
your position.

The entire article is quite good to denounce your supposed expert.
And I'm afraid you'll have to do better than to present a review by
someone who has an axe to grind: as a minor publisher and author of
rather extremist (buzzword: rapture) Christian books.[1]
And not a very contentful review at that. He aims most of his criticism
at what he sees as Erman's attack on Christianity and even Jesus
himself. And of course, if you can't attack the facts with counter facts
(most of the review is opinion and innuendo) you attack the author for
his alleged unwillingness to agree with your faith.
It's quite obvious from reading the review that it's a hit piece,
typical of so many paranoid Christians who fear and attack anyone who
not only doesn't share their faith, but also dares to point out its warts.
I'll pick the scholar's views over the publisher of contrary content any
day. I don't think Ehrman got to be the Religious Studies Department
Chairman at UNC Chapel Hill because he's ignorant in his own field.
As counterpoint, I suggest reading the "Skeptic" Magazine's very
favorable review of the book. Ehrman was also a guest on "The Colbert
Report" which gets him bonus points out of the box. ;)
