I notice (up-to) a 30-minute delay in my list email getting from sparkplug to roadrunner. It seems to get routed to somewhere in the east, but not always to the same node.
I'm sure it's leaving sparky in a timely manner, (eg) 'cause I can see somebody's reply to my message long before I see my own message. > Received: from sparkplug.kernel-panic.org ([206.251.247.139]) > by hrndva-mx-17.mgw.rr.com with ESMTP; Thu, 19 Jul 2007 16:11:48 -0400 > Received: from sparkplug.kernel-panic.org (localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]) > by sparkplug.kernel-panic.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4ED3F978F0; Thu, > 19 Jul 2007 12:39:08 -0700 (PDT) (I guess this host is Herndon, VA) But not all messages suffer. Here's an earlier one that was timely: > Received: from sparkplug.kernel-panic.org ([206.251.247.139]) > by clmboh-mx-08.mgw.rr.com with ESMTP; Thu, 19 Jul 2007 14:56:27 -0400 > Received: from sparkplug.kernel-panic.org (localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]) > by sparkplug.kernel-panic.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 52A5597A6D; Thu, > 19 Jul 2007 11:56:12 -0700 (PDT) (I guess this host might be Columbus, OH) Okay, here's the latest with a long delay: > Received: from sparkplug.kernel-panic.org ([206.251.247.139]) > by orngca-mx-05.mgw.rr.com with ESMTP; Thu, 19 Jul 2007 16:45:22 -0400 > Received: from sparkplug.kernel-panic.org (localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]) > by sparkplug.kernel-panic.org (Postfix) with ESMTP id 30FB897A85; Thu, > 19 Jul 2007 13:13:32 -0700 (PDT) Maybe: Orange, CA .. on Eastern time??? Now, I see some routers down in Fremont and Palo Alto, CA from http://www.internettrafficreport.com/namerica.htm Do you suppose this has anything to do with it? Roadrunner's network status page is no help .. it doesn't seem to have been updated in a month <sigh>. Anyone care to guess at an explanation?
